Autumn has snuck up on me.  I swear only a few days ago it was possibly late September, and just sort of that time-between-summer-and-autumn.  (What? You haven't heard of that? Welcome to the PNW!  WORD.) Now there is just the slightest bit of something in the air.  Perhaps a chill.  And leaves are starting to turn colors, and to drift down onto the sidewalks.  The sheep are back in the big pasture at the bottom of the hill, from wherever it is they spend their summer. I want to bake and cook comfort food for dinner, and plan Thanksgiving...

Oh, blessed wonderful autumn!

Reality

I would say I'm fattening up for the winter, but the sad reality is that I never unfattened up for the summer.

I weep.

To Do?

Editing.

Laundry.

Shower.  Please.  Maybe do that first.

Clean the kitchen, and do the floor.

Pick berries.  And freeze them.

Possibly bake a buttermilk cake?  With blueberries?

Marinate the meat for dinner.

Run to the co-op for some bread and possibly veggies.  Or go to the Heavenly Harvest stand?

Yeah.  Isn't this exciting...?  :D

Feeling a little inspired

The Bestie got her new blog up and running, so I thought I would take a stab at mine.  At the moment, I'm geeking out and "double-fisting" with two Mac lappies in my cave.  Only one of them is currently behaving, but at this rate, My Honey had better watch his own geek creds.

So it is summer and today that means the day is hot and sunny and very summer-like.  There are teeny tiny tomatoes on a couple of my plants.  Hopefully a few beets will be ready soon.  And my one head of lettuce.  And one carrot.  Such a productive year in The Back 40...  At least the blueberries and mint have been happy.

Unfortunately, what I'm doing today is work.  Work.  Work.  Work.  I just wanted to say Hi.
